Do you want to realize sustainable energy? The SOLAR-MAP package provides the tools to present the potential of renewable energy. At a glance it becomes clear how much energy can be generated and how much CO2 emissions can be saved. By using LiDAR data the total roof area, orientation and slope are automatically calculated. The appropriate and inappropriate roofs for solar panels are presented as separate GIS layer.
The solar potential analysis calculates the shadows of roof objects, trees and neighbouring buildings and is combined with the total amount of sunshine. By combining these two factors, the virtual roof solar panel is calculated. Each building now has a value for the amount of energy that can be generated by solar potential and how much CO2 emissions can be saved.
